Healthy Chocolate Covered Strawberries

  • 8 TB GRATED organic food grade cacao butter
  • 3 TB real maple syrup
  • 3 TB cacao powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 12 washed and dried strawberries

Instructions
 

  • Using a box grater, grate a chunk of cacao butter. (Edible cacao butter usually comes in a bag with several small chunks. A little goes a long way—one small chunk of cacao butter is usually more than enough for the entire recipe.)
  • Place 8 TB of the grated cacao butter into a double boiler and melt, stirring frequently.
  • Once the cacao butter is melted, reduce heat and add the maple syrup and vanilla to the double boiler. Stir until well combined.
  • Add the cacao powder and stir until glossy and smooth.
  • Remove the chocolate from heat.
  • Using a spoon, drizzle chocolate over the strawberries (or alternatively, dip the strawberries in chocolate). Place strawberries on a lined plate or tray and chill in fridge for 10-15 minutes until the chocolate hardens.

Notes

You can also make the chocolate in the microwave instead of a double boiler. Just melt the cacao butter before adding anything else.
